OnePlus launched its latest device, the OnePlus Nord midrange phone. Read here before deciding which one suits better for you.
The OnePlus Company revealed its most affordable midrange device, the new OnePlus Nord, three months after they launched with its flagship, the OnePlus 8 series.
OnePlus Nord vs OnePlus 8
The Nord version is very similar to the OnePlus 8 series. However, there are some important differences. Starting with the chipset and camera setup, as the Nord features Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G CPU while the OnePlus 8 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S20.
The OnePlus Nord come with two selfie cameras. The main one is 32MP and the secondary it is an ultrawide camera with 105 degree field of view. The Nord main camera setup has four cameras. There is a 48MP standard main sensor, a 12MP wide angle sensor, a 2MP macro sensor and a 5MP depth-sensing sensor. The OnePlus 8 series doesn’t have the 5MP depth-sensing sensor.
The main camera from OnePlus Nord is designed with Sony sensor, like on the OnePlus 8.
OnePlus Nord differences
The OnePlus Nord screen is 2,400×1,080-pixel resolution. It is lower than the OnePlus 8 Pro screen resolution. However, it still looked absolutely crisp and clear in my hands-on time. On a daily driver, I don’t think you’ll notice much difference.
Even when watching high-definition videos on YouTube, I didn’t think there will be any lack in detail.
The processor itself has eight cores and it’s backed up by either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. Both 8GB or 12GB RAM option should be powerful enough for anything you’re likely to throw at it.
OnePlus Nord battery
There’s a 4,115-mAh battery inside the Nord. This should be able to provide you enough battery to go for a whole day. Of course, depending on your usage.
In case you’re wondering about the name “Nord”, it was named because “Nord” means “North” in some European languages. OnePlus says that North on a compass “points towards growth and success.”
